One of the oldest cryptocurrency exchanges in Europe, bit stamprevealed that John the Baptist Graftieaux will be the company’s new global chief executive. He succeeds Julian Sawyerwho decided to pursue other opportunities.
A New Global Managing Director for Bitstamp
Luxembourg-based digital asset exchange has new global CEO appointed Jean Baptiste Graftieaux. Prior to that, he was CEO of the company’s European region. Graftieaux has extensive experience in crypto and finance, having worked at PayPal and eBay for over a decade. From 2014 to 2016, he held the position of Chief Compliance Officer at bit stampworking with currency regulators.
The chairman of the board of directors, Nicolas Hussnoted that Graftieaux supported the efforts of bit stamp from the start and had “admirably directed” the European business unit over the past year.

For its part, Graftieaux affirm that bit stamp is a “highly reliable cryptocurrency exchange” with millions of customers, a strategic vision for the future financial ecosystem.

The former CEO of bit stamp is Julian Sawyer. During his tenure, the company obtained regulatory clearance in North America, signed numerous partnerships with banks and had more than 4 million customers.

Focus on the partnerships of bit stamp
A few months ago, the entity signed a three-year agreement with the American professional organization ofe-sports Immortals to become its official cryptocurrency exchange. Moreover, the agreement makes bit stamp a Founding Member of the game company. The main objective of the collaboration is toeducate the gaming community about the crypto industry and provide fans with more opportunities.
Before the deal, bit stamp partnered with another brand ofesports, Guild esports, based in London. The two parties have signed a 3-year global sponsorship deal worth approximately $5.6 million, the largest ever for Guild esports. The company estimates that it will generate annual revenues of $1.8 million over a three-year period.
