Bolloré Transport & Logistics inaugurates two sites, in Cameroon and Thailand

After 18 months of work, Bolloré Transport & Logistics Cameroon officially opens the doors of its 24,000 m² logistics site, the Kribi Logistics Hub. Located near Kribi Conteneurs Terminal (KCT), a property of the service provider used for port handling, this new multimodal import/export platform is dedicated to the reception, storage and delivery of goods. The first phase of this project cost four billion CFA francs, which corresponds to approximately six million euros, out of a total envelope of seven billion CFA francs, the equivalent of 10 million euros. “Kribi Logistics Hub is an essential link in the logistics chain serving the development of the new industrial-port area and the sub-region. Thanks to the existing synergies with the Port of Kribi, Customs and Kribi Conteneurs Terminal, we will be able to offer our customers an excellent quality of service while guaranteeing them perfect control of logistics costs.”explains Serge Agnero, regional director for the Gulf of Guinea at Bolloré Transport & Logistics.

A modern 6,000 m² warehouse to start

In the first start-up phase, the logistics base consists of a 6,000 m² warehouse, an operating area of 7,720 m² and 310 m² of offices. It has a 600 m² canopy to accommodate transport trucks day and night. The warehouse is equipped with modern equipment: reinforced fire hoses (RIA), electrical power supply units for recharging port machines, natural desensitization system and autonomous lighting and security systems.

Connected to the port of Kribi by a 2.9 km road, Kribi Logistics Hub will participate in the economic development of the region as a whole: Chad, CAR, Congo, etc. ” This logistical infrastructure will strengthen the efforts of the Cameroonian authorities in the development of local value chains. It will also make it possible to boost the export capacities of the country in the hinterland for commodities. In a difficult international context, Kribi Logistics Hub is a connection point between maritime and road flows for the benefit of populations “, specifies Philippe Labonne, president of Bolloré Africa Logistics.
