An NFT jersey for ESTAC against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday at the Parc des Princes – SportBuzzBusiness.fr

A few days before the end of the French Ligue 1 Uber Eats championship, ESTAC announces the launch of an initiative combining NFT and merchandising.

For its match against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes this Sunday, Troyes players will wear shirts linked by blockchain to their NFT (non-fungible token) twins. An initiative carried out in association with Collect ID.

“It will also allow buyers in the future to benefit from a wearable product in the metaverse platforms”

In detail, 15 jerseys worn by the players will be auctioned for the benefit of UNICEF for child victims of the war in Ukraine. The club specifies that these jerseys will be collected and sealed at the end of the match. ESTAC players will therefore not be able to exchange their jersey with that of a Parisian.

“ESTAC is thus the first professional club to materialize a sale of NFT in France, by offering the first hybridized jerseys in the world of sport and as the second European club to offer this type of technology” adds the club in its press release. “This sale will also be the very first auction in the world, of a bundle including a totally unique jersey since worn during a Ligue 1 Uber Eats match, associated with its digital twin. »

The auction of this hybrid product (jersey + NFT) will take place on Monday May 9 at the Stade de l’Aube and on the site Interencheres.com. To access their NFT, buyers will need to scan the shirt using their smartphone. An invisible chip has been placed at the bottom right of the jersey. The scanning area has been materialized by a target.

NFT for the 2022-2023 jerseys

Let’s add that this “NFT jersey” initiative will not be a one shot since the Trojan club will offer a “hybridization” on the new 2022-2023 jerseys designed by Le Coq Sportif.

All home, away and third jerseys sold will be equipped with a chip and will thus offer supporters an NFT version accessible with the Collect ID application. “Users will thus be able to retrieve their NFTs in their secure wallet stored on the Blockchain Polygon (Matic)” adds ESTAC. NFTs that will obviously have a lower value on the secondary market than those related to the jerseys worn by the players.

“Beyond offering a new experience, this will also allow buyers in the future to benefit from a “wearable” product in the metaverse platforms. » adds the Trojan club. “This is a new stage in the deployment of ESTAC in web 3.0 with the strong desire to always develop the fan experience and conquer new entertainment spaces”

A few months ago, the company Collect ID had launched an NFT jersey with Atlético Mineiro celebrating the Brazilian club’s 113th anniversary with a collector’s jersey that sold 120,000 copies.
