IWC: experience in the metaverse and NFT project

As members, holders of these tokens will be able to access unique and exclusive experiences by moving from the virtual world to the physical world, and vice versa. This unique and innovative project was unveiled this week by Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC, on the occasion of the opening of the Watches and Wonders show in Geneva.

IWC will distribute a first series of 1,868 tokens -1868 in tribute to the year of the founding of the watchmaking house- to customers, watch enthusiasts and the general public. The tokens will be distributed on the various IWC channels and on its stand at the Watches and Wonders trade show. In addition, each purchaser of one of the new IWC colored ceramic pilot’s watches will now receive an NFT.

Each NFT, “minted” on the Arianee platform contains a digital work of art in the image of a rough diamond, emblem of the new club IWC Diamond Hand Club.

Frequently used in the web3 ecosystem, the term “Diamond Hands” refers to investors who hold their position in all circumstances, as opposed to “Paper Hands” who panic in the face of fluctuations. By naming its club the IWC Diamond Hand Club, IWC pays tribute to the values of commitment and loyalty of its community.

Once the NFT has been obtained, its owner becomes a member of the IWC Diamond Hand Clubsays Maurice Moitroux, Associate Director of Brand Marketing at IWC. He will then be able to access the 3D virtual space newly launched by IWC and hosted on Spatial.io, a digital platform dedicated to culture and which offers creators, collectors and brands the possibility of creating virtual reality experiences in the metaverse. . »

The IWC environment, designed by architect Hani Rashid, is the digital version of the space designed especially for the Watches and Wonders show. It also presents other worlds in the colors of the watchmaker’s new ceramic watches, such as “IWC Mojave Desert”, “IWC Woodland” and “IWC Lake Tahoe”.

Designed as a first step leading to all future IWC web3 initiatives, the IWC Diamond Hand Club is set to grow over time with new features, and the distribution of new tokens to collect on special occasions. .

web3 technology is an exciting new frontier with endless possibilities, and IWC is only at the beginning of its metaverse expansionsays Katharina Doepke-Schelling, associate director of digital strategy and transformation at IWC. Our virtual environment was designed as a holistic ecosystem and built with our users in mind, for the long term. Our goal is to enrich the experience of our community and invest ourselves in 3D, wherever our customers and watch lovers are.. »

Members of the IWC Diamond Hand Club will be invited to exclusive virtual events in the 3D space and will have access to privileged services. Additionally, members will be able to access specific community spaces based on the tokens they own.

Thus, on April 1 (it’s not a fish), the Club will invite its members to a private performance at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva to celebrate the new collection of IWC watches “Colors of Top Gun”.

To access the NFT, customers and watch enthusiasts must first scan a QR code presented to them. The QR code will then prompt recipients to claim the token through the IWC Wallet, powered by Arianee, where they can store it securely for later use.
