What a strange idea. La Poste has just unveiled a series of 10 Non Fungible Token (NFT), taken from its exhibition “Faces of France by postmen”, including two from the Centre-Val de Loire region.

A charity exhibition

These 10 NFTs were selected from over 4,000 photographs presented, in partnership with photographer Yann Arthus Bertrand. The photos were taken by French postal workers between September 6, 2021 and October 31, 2021. The idea was to “ask all postmen in France (i.e. 70,000 people) to photograph the citizen or citizens they meet each day in the context of their profession and which affect them for one reason or another”, as La Poste pointed out last December.

These unique and non-duplicable tokens are for sale on the Binance cryptocurrency platform. All funds raised during this auction will be donated to La Croix Rouge. They could well be beneficial to the association, insofar as these NFTs can increase in value and be resold. The 4,000 photos are visible in the virtual exhibition produced with Yann Arthus Bertrand.

Like citizens

The NFTs presented by La Poste are not images, but small animated videos of five seconds, each of which presents a citizen photographed by an employee of the group. You can notably find Norbert, who came from Normandy, but also two agents based in Centre-Val de Loire.

All these videos are auctioned: to participate, you have to convert money into Binance Coin (BNB), which has a fluctuating value against the euro, and then offer more than the initial price offered. by mail.

0.4 BNB, or €84.5, is the base price of the NFT from Edwige, in the Centre-Val de Loire region. If you are interested in this token, you still have four days to try to acquire it during its auction.

Edwige’s neighbor in this exhibition, Didier, in Centre-Val de Loire, is also entitled to an NFT. Its sale even unleashed the crowds since if its low price was set at 0.47 BNB, or €99, after five successive offers in less than 24 hours, it rose to €112, or 0.53 BNB depending on the course. current. Cryptocurrencies have the particularity of having unstable prices, so this value can fluctuate from day to day, in both directions.

In partnership with Binance

The fact that La Poste tokens are sold on the Binance NFT market platform, a cryptocurrency juggernaut for more than a year now, is no coincidence. Its CEO, Changpeng Zhao welcomed this partnership, which follows the one signed recently with the Hermitage Museum.

If cryptocurrencies have experienced a generalized crash in recent weeks, which has radically reduced their value, this publicity stunt from La Poste shows that NFTs continue to arouse interest, with an increasingly large audience. All auctions end June 27, 2022.
