The Graph (GRT) seeks to facilitate the seamless exchange of data between blockchains and applications. The platform is among the first decentralized indexing and querying software available on the market. As such, it continues to see growing adoption. Impressively, the network has already reached well over a billion queries since its launch in 2020.
The Graph offers developers an easy-to-use, cost-effective, and secure API. This network allows decentralized applications to add data to the Ethereum blockchain using smart contracts. Graph APIs are used by some of the most popular DeFi platforms on the market. Specifically, AAVE, Aragon, Balancer, DAOstack, Uniswap, and Synthetix leverage this technology to improve data responsiveness.
GRT consists of indexers, custodians, and delegates that provide services to the network and serve data to Web3 applications. Consumers use applications and consume data.
To ensure the economic security of the Graph Network and the integrity of the queried data, participants stake and use graph tokens (GRT). The GRT is an ERC-20 type worker token on the Ethereum blockchain, used to allocate resources in the network. Active indexers, custodians, and delegates can provide services and earn revenue from the network, commensurate with the amount of work they do and their GRT stake.
Cosmos integration confirmed, OSMO is next
During a recent interview, Kline said that the current developments are very exciting and that this period can be considered as ” the golden age of DApps”, the projects finally coming out with many announcements of developments they have been working on for many years.
Additionally, Ms. Kline confirmed The Graph’s earlier announcement that the project has already completed its integration with Cosmos and is now aiming to transition to Osmosis. She reflected on The Graph’s two-year-old strategy of moving to multi-blockchain, and remarked that the community liked the idea when it was introduced to them.
At the time, many voices supported the Cosmos ecosystem as the one The Graph should gravitate to first, which is exactly what the project did. Osmosis was the next logical step, as it built and grew with the team over“several bear marketsas Kline noted.
While The Graph plays the role of a decentralized network that offers to process and organize data from many different types of networks in a decentralized way, Osmosis functions as an automated market maker that specializes in interchain DeFi movement. And, although it has its own blockchain, it has long used Cosmos’ SDK and IBC technologies. It’s this connection that made him a perfect candidate to follow in Cosmos’ footsteps when it comes to integrating with The Graph.
