Solana Integration: Brave Browser Will Broaden Access to Web3 | Brave, web3 | Cryptocurrency

Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko also believes Solana integration will help the company attract the next billion users to Web3.

The Brave browser, which prioritizes respect for privacy, unveiled version 1.39 of its desktop browser, which integrates Solana, with the aim of improving access to Web3. Brave joins Opera, who did a similar thing integrating Solana, Polygon, StarkEx and other blockchain ecosystems in March.

Prior to this announcement, Brave Browser had a linked wallet and a robust suite of tools for novices and experts alike. The addition of Solana support means that users will now be able to enjoy lower fees and faster transactions.

Plans for the integration were first shared in November 2021. With desktop version 1.39, Brave Wallet users can transact SOL and SPL tokens directly from their Brave Wallet. They will also be able to buy other cryptocurrencies with fiat thanks to its integration with Ramp. To top it off, the platform’s native token, BAT, has also been turned into an SPL token.

Confirming the development, Brave CEO and co-founder Brendan Eich said:

“As the leading Web3 browser, Brave now offers integration with the Solana blockchain so users and developers can transact seamlessly on their fast, low-cost network.”

Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko also believes the Solana integration will help the firm onboard the next billion users to Web3.

Solana Integration by Brave: One of Web3’s Many Moves

According to the announcement, the Solana integration is just one of several measures to improve access to the Web3 ecosystem.

The company also announced its integration with Ramp. The Ramp integration allows users to purchase cryptocurrency directly from the Brave wallet. According to Greg McEwan, Head of Marketing at Ramp, the integration will shorten the “painful process of converting fiat currencies to crypto“.

Similarly, Brave announced its partnership with Solana’s leading NFT marketplace, Magic Eden. Thanks to BAT tokens, Brave wallet users will soon be able to purchase NFTs directly from their wallets. Magic Eden founder Sidney Zhang said, “Integrating Brave Wallet into our marketplace will advance the ecosystem.

Other than that, Brendan Eich from Brave noted that the company will provide DApp support in an upcoming release. With this series of integrations, Brave is positioning its platform to enable users to support their web3 experiences in the easiest, fastest, and most secure way possible.
