Yuga Labs would soon launch its new collection of NFTs – BeinCrypto

The Yuga Labs, building on its success with the Bored Ape Yacht Club, could soon return to the front of the stage with a new collection.

A still mysterious collection

Yuga Labs no longer seems to count the homages and controversies related to its Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. Monkey images, which sometimes sell for several thousand dollars, have found a loyal following including stars such as Snoop Dogg. These have also been the subject of numerous hacks. However, these incidents do not seem to slow down their creators.

According to the media Prototypes, Yuga Labs reportedly aims to release a whole new collection of non-fungible tokens by the end of the year. Entitled Mecha Apes, this one could take the effigy of the famous monkeys of the Bored Ape Yacht Club. So far, not much has been revealed about them. Protos reportedly became aware of a leaked document from Yuga Labs exposing the project.

However, the latter would not say more about the appearance and style that the new NFTs will sport. However, one could hypothesize that the monkeys will be robotic. The Japanese term Mecha actually refers to characters such as Grendizer or Astro Boy. Fans might therefore recognize a few nods to pop culture.

Anyway, it would seem that the ambitions are there. The creators would like to raise no less than 50 million dollars with this collection. It may be several weeks before Yuga Labs makes an official announcement. If the public hasn’t grown weary of the original collection’s custom apes, the Mecha Apes could enjoy the same success as the BAYC, opening the door to a host of spin-off collections.

Yuga Labs welcomes the new Ethereum ecosystem

As the Ethereum merger appears to be the start of a new era for the crypto industry, Yuga Labs seems to be following suit. The latter had already affirmed his support for The Merge and announced that he accepted that NFTs be created on the Proof-of-Stake.

Non-fungible tokens are also subject to the changes generated by the merger. The Yuga Labs could consider its new collection as an opening project towards the brand new Ethereum ecosystem. For creators as well as buyers, The Merge doesn’t change much from an NFT implementation perspective as well as fees. Contrary to rumors, which have been denied by the Ethereum team, the latter should not see their price drop.

Only the impact of non-fungible tokens on the environment will now be softened. It remains to be seen whether this will allow digital artworks to regain their pre-crisis popularity and become more democratized.
